Frequent Questions

WHY SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?

Jesus commanded it.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”  Matt 28:19

Jesus set the example.

“Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan river to be baptized by John.”  Matt 3:13

It is a public declaration of your faith in Jesus.

“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in Heaven.”  Matthew 10:32

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF BAPTISM?

It is a symbol of being united with Jesus in his death and resurrection.

“For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized.  And with Him you were raised to new life…”. Col 2:12

It is a symbol of being washed of my sins through Jesus.

“Washing of regeneration” Titus 2:12

Baptism doesn’t save you, it is an outward symbol of an inner commitment you have already made.

“God saved you by his grace when you believed.”  Eph 2:8-9

WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?

Everyone who has made the decision to put their faith in Jesus.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”  Romans 10:9

Children should be old enough to understand and believe on their own.  Generally, children 1st grade and older are eligible at their parents discretion.  Children have their own kid-friendly orientation, with a parent, through Pastor Ethan.

SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED AGAIN?

If you were baptized as an infant or before you were old enough to understand, we encourage you to register, but you don’t need to keep being baptized after that.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

Register using the link above, use the “Next Steps” card in the seat back at church, or stop by the YES table on Sunday.

Attend a 15 minute info session in the Well Spring Room where you can get all your other questions answered. The sessions will occur the few weeks before the celebration.

Invite your friends and family to come witness your baptism at our annual outdoor baptism celebration.  We will provide you with printed invitations at the Info session.

You can invite a family member or friend who has been instrumental in your walk with Christ to assist with your baptism.
